The Northgate is a Tenants' Cooperative located in Eastchester, New York.

The Building

The building was built in 1928 and features imported Dutch red brick and tudor wood and stucco details on the exterior facade. Handsome stained-wood double doors greet you at both main entrances. Inside, polished Italian terrazzo floors and marble stairs make your presence welcome. Each of the two lobbies also feature an elevator to provide you access to all six floors as well as the clean and well lit basement level.

The Apartments

Many of the apartments still feature the design details original to the building. These include nine foot ceilings, plaster walls, french doors, substantial baseboards, picture rails and glass door knobs. Classic Art Deco details abound in many of the bathrooms and door fixtures. Since virtually all of the apartments are occupied by their owners, many have updated and remodeled kitchens and bathrooms.

The Neighborhood

The Northgate is located in Eastchester on the border of the Village of Scarsdale. All Scarsdale shops are within easy walking distance as well as the Metro North commuter rail station to New York City. During rush hour, midtown Manhattan is a convenient half hour train ride away.
